artistic expression

Sacred River uses forms like drawing, painting, writing and dancing to cultivate radically shifted consciousness. We do this not to serve the creation of beautiful art, but to become embodied in our ability 'to dance' in fullness between matter and spirit, the twilight-play of light and shadows, good and evil; in this world, affected by spirit. So participating in a co-creative act of being created ourselves.

The art of Soul-Making differs from many spiritual traditions in its necessity to embody the Soul’s need to honour and delight in the body and the world of matter. Even though we acknowledge the truth of spirit’s knowledge, that how we perceive all that exist, is nothing but illusion.

Honing and cultivating this shift in consciousness, we play in the space between our experience and the hand that crafts the piece, so ‘crafting’ our craftiness at crafting-as-psychological-mode, while waking up into consciousness that draws deeply ‘from what wells up’ like tides, in waves, from the depths: a sacred river of Soul.
